YTÜ Joins InCites, a Citation-Based Research Evaluation Tool!

Yıldız Technical University has integrated InCites—one of the world’s most prestigious analytics platforms—into its academic ecosystem to measure its academic performance against global standards and develop data-driven research strategies. Powered by Web of Science data, the platform offers strategic insights across a wide range of areas, from publication strategies to institutional benchmarking.

By conducting detailed analyses of publication impact, collaboration networks, the pace of development in research fields, and performance indicators reflected in international rankings, InCites will provide our Yıldız academics with a robust roadmap.

Yıldız Technical University, which continues to rise in international rankings, has granted full access to the InCites platform—a next-generation research evaluation tool that leverages Web of Science Core Collection data—with the aim of increasing the impact of its academic output and securing the right position in global competition.

Referred to in the academic world as “the power of data,” InCites not only reports on past performance but also sheds light on future scientific trends. Thanks to this platform, our researchers and strategic planning units now have the ability to compare our university’s publication performance with that of other leading institutions worldwide using multidimensional criteria. This integration will be the strongest supporter of our goal to increase the number of high-quality publications and secure placements in high-impact journals.

Catching Tomorrow’s Research Topics Today

One of the most notable features of InCites, the comparative research performance and impact analysis platform, is the “Research Horizon Navigator,” which identifies emerging research fields in the scientific community that have not yet reached saturation and hold high funding potential. This enables our academics to develop strategies that maximize both individual and institutional citation counts by directing their work toward “tomorrow’s science.”

The Right Journal, Maximum Impact

Thanks to the advanced JCR (Journal Citation Reports) metrics it provides, InCites guides researchers in selecting the most suitable journal with the highest impact factor for their articles. By analyzing journal performance according to quartile ranges, the system ensures that academic work finds its true value in the most appropriate venue.

Access Information

The citation-based research evaluation tool, the InCites platform (http://incites.clarivate.com), is now accessible via the YTÜ Library website and is available to the entire YTÜ community through personal accounts created using institutional email addresses.

Password for access:

Even if you have an IP or Shibboleth access subscription, registration and login are required to use InCites Benchmarking & Analytics. You must create your account for the first time as a new user from a computer within your institution’s IP address range.  If you are already registered for the Web of Science Core Collection, your username and password are the same for all these products. You can create an account by using the “Register” link on the login screen.
