Plagiarism Detection Software (Turnitin & iThenticate)

Turnitin is a web-based system used to prevent plagiarism and improper citations in student projects. Theses, projects, and other works uploaded to the system are automatically compared against a vast database of sources, and citations, similarities, and improper use of sources are identified to generate a similarity report. In addition to academic databases, journals, and publications, Turnitin’s database contains over 1 billion student assignments and over 72 billion web pages.

IMPORTANT NOTE:

*When uploading a thesis to Turnitin, you must selectSTORAGE” under “optional settings.” Issues have arisen with Turnitin due to documents being accidentally sent to the repository and users deleting them from their own accounts (resulting in 100% similarity, for example). You can request permanent deletion to remove a document from your account. If a document is deleted directly, it is not removed from the repository even if it is deleted from your account, and several steps must be taken to ensure the document is removed from the repository. Therefore, to avoid any inconvenience, we strongly urge you to exercise caution in this matter.
