Rules for Using Electronic Publications
In accordance with the license agreements that Yıldız Technical University Central Library has entered into with publishers and intermediary companies for the electronic resources to which it subscribes, the systematic downloading of electronic resources (downloading all issues of a journal or all volumes of a book from the same computer) is prohibited.
Failure to comply with the rules in the license agreements will result in database administrators blocking the university’s access to the electronic resources, thereby subjecting both the university and the user to legal liability. Database usage is monitored electronically by publishers, and those who violate the agreement terms are identified by their IP address. Therefore,
• Do not engage in systematic downloading, and do not use software such as Smart Robot, FlashGet, etc., when downloading electronic records. Download or print only the sections you need.
• Do not use software such as Smart Robot, FlashGet, etc., when downloading electronic resources.
• Since the sale, distribution, or use of the database for profit is prohibited, do not share information copied from the database with anyone other than YTÜ students, faculty, and staff, and do not make any changes to the copied information.
• Do not share the password you use for remote access with others. All off-campus usage made with your password will appear in your records, and you will be held responsible for any misuse.
We bring this to your attention.
